ABOUT
MATERNITY JOURNEY was founded on the basis of bringing compassionate, comforting, and cultural service to first time, single and experienced mothers and their families. Through experience it has been found that many mothers have preconceived fears and notions on labor and birth, and those stressors can cause friction throughout the journey in ways unimaginable.As a Doula the goal is to provide that non-judgmental, emotional, educational, and physical support necessary as she copes through the most treasured journey of her life...welcoming her bundle of joy!
The word “doula” is an ancient Greek word meaning ‘woman caregiver’. With each client exceptional professional care is given to each women to empower and uplift their visions on childbirth so that she can feel clear and confident about the choices of her Maternity Journey. My role is to help facilitate safe, positive and empowering birthing experiences by offering the information, emotional support and physical support to your birth team and help make a mothers nature feel simple.
Having physical, professional support for coping with labor pains has proven to be beneficial in significantly reducing a mothers need for cesarian and reducing the request for medical intervention, resulting in the occurrence or more natural births. Postpartum services have shown to greatly benefit families with the transition into parenthood. MEET KELLI
At an early age my infatuation with the nature of pregnancy allowed me to embrace the strength of a woman. At a young age I was surrounded by young mothers and understood that the need for support throughout pregnancy was so prevalent. So I set out to educate myself further in order empower women of the strength in our being to bring life into the world. Along the way I gained much experience working with the little ones as a nanny and toddle teacher, which is always a great passion of mine! However, after noting that the US (specifically TX) has fallen victim of having the highest number of pregnancy-related deaths I made it my duty to support women and their families welcoming newborns. I believe that the need for caring, sensitive and knowledgeable support during this time has always been provided and necessary, especially from a historical view, and should definitely be available to women in every community. I am dedicated to bringing ease to first time, single, young and experienced mothers...I see every pregnancy and birth as a miracle and as a birth coach and infant specialist I feel honored to be able to contribute my expertise to women and families in the greater Houston area.
